50 Questions Day 6

50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind

                   6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?

Well lets see. I would have to say that the job that would make me rich with happiness would be owning my own bar. Now don't get the wrong idea. While I do enjoy the occasional large Margarita,
See picture to the right, I am far from a drunk. On the contrary I hardly ever drink anymore. And usually only at the 1 or 2 parties that I go to a year. No, The reason I would love to own my own bar would be for primarily two reasons. Number 1 is that I love to throw darts. Before moving to where I now live I used to play on 3 different leagues and at least 1 night a week for money. I started shooting darts around the age of 13 when my mom would take me with her to help her dad clean bars at night in the summer. And with nothing else to do, I would find some darts and practice....God I miss those days. The second reason that I would love to own a bar is because for the most part you are surrounded by people that just want to have fun and usually turn into good friends. While living were I used to live I made tons of friends playing darts and knew lots of them for over 10 years.

Well there you have it. Now I pose the question to you readers. What job would make you happiest. Hope you all have a good night.

50 Questions Day 5

50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind

What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?

The one thing in the world that I want changed would be HATE. I know this can include a broad range of things but I believe that hate is the one thing that if changed would fix the world.

Lets look at a couple of examples of hate. Considering where I live, the south, perhaps the biggest example of hate is racism. While racism is not a huge issue any more in the conventional sense, i.e black and white, it is still an issue we deal with. Weather you are white guy and for some reasons look at blacks with a cautious eye or your black and you look at whites with a distaste because even though you know exactly the same amount as he does he still has the better job. These are still some of the stigmas we deal with today. Now for me personally for me I believe that no matter what color you are we should all be treated as equals.

Another example of hate would be religious hate. This hate is probably the prevalent of all in today's society. With the war in the middle east having turned into what everybody wants to thinks is a war between radical Islam and the west is I believe a religious war between radical Islam and Christianity. I have never understood why religions have to fight. I mean come on. This is a large planet. If you don't like someone's religious beliefs then stay in your own neck of the woods and make the best of what you have there instead of moving to a place where the primary way of religion is different than yours. Now while I am a Christian my self I have no problems living around those of different religions as long as you respect my religion and don't push your own.
Well I think I have rambled on enough for tonight I hope enjoyed this answer and I would love to know what you would answer. Have a good night all.

50 Questions Day 4

50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind

4.When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you've done.

For anyone who knows me will give you an automatic, yes. Because I love to talk. And not just to friends but to anyone who will listen. What's great is that my job gives me the opportunity to talk to new people everyday. Do you have any idea how good it feels to be able to tell the same story over and over again and not have someone tell you that they have heard that done before. Anyway on to what I think this question is really about. Which is, will you have done more than just talk about what you are going to do with your life. For me, I think this might be a hard one to answer. Right now in my life, I am working on my career. In the last two years, I have talked about what I want to do at work and for the most part have accomplished what I have set out to do. So in answer to the question, I will for the remainder of my life strive to do more than just talk. But I guess that sentence in and of itself is talking more than I have done . ...... I think I confused myself , Damn better luck next time I guess.

Have a goodnight all.

50 Questions Day 3

50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind

            3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?

For todays question you guys are just going to have to bear with me while I try and figure it out. I think I am just going to try free typing and see what comes out. Let me know what you think.

To answer the question I think I would say that the biggest reason that we do things that we don't like is FEAR.  Plain and simple. Think about it. For those people that hate their jobs what is the number one thing that they would say that hate. Not the economy. Not the rising gas prices. No they would say their jobs. Then you have to ask yourself why do they keep going to work instead of finding a new job. FEAR. Someone who hates their job would tell you one of a few things as to why they don't get another job like, there are just no jobs right now, or how do I know that someone else is just not going to lay me off 6 months down the road, and so on and so on. Here is what I say to that logic. 2 years ago I decided to change jobs. Thats right, right in the middle of a recession. The guys that were in my training class were all talking about how long they had been out of work, i.e. 6 months, a year. When they came to me I told them that I had only just quit my old job 4 days prior. So that leads me to believe that there are jobs out there and if you have two brain cells to rub together and any amount of will power you can find something you like if not love even in todays job market.

Now for the part about not doing things that we love, the only reason that I can think of off the top of my head is that we are just being lazy. Take me for example. Before I moved to where I am now I used to throw darts at least 4 nights a week and loved every minute of it. I would play in leagues and in money matches. But since I have moved I have probably played darts 2 or 3 times and I have been here for 4 years. Part of the reason has to do with my work schedule because there are some nights that I just don't get home until really late anyways. But I think the big reason is that I have just become lazy. My favorite thing to do now is come home sit down and watch television.

In conclusion, if you don't like something that you are doing then lets just go with the easy answer, STOP DOING IT STUPID. and if you are not doing something that you like then, GET OFF YOU BUTT AND GO DO IT. Lets just see if I can take my own advice.

Have you a great night or day depending when you are reading this and I will see you tomorrow.

50 Questions Day 2

50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind

                 2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?

In my opinion never trying is probably the worst one. Here is what I think. Failure is apart of our lives. When you don't fail you don't really learn anything. Easy example. The first time most of us rode our bikes with no training wheels we fell or crashed. Now think about that for a minute. What did you learn? You learned "DAMN THAT STREET LIGHT REALLY HURTS WHEN I HIT IT." Or some variation of that, right? If you don't like that lets try something a little more adult. How about in the recent case of my training that I just went through at work. The class is voluntary and not required at all to continue to keep a job where I work. Now one of the reasons for the voluntary status of the class is that you have to pole climb. Now when you pole climb and screw up this is might be what it sounds like. "UUUUUHHHH, CAN SOMEONE HELP ME GET UP. I THINK I MISSED THAT LAST STEP AND FELL 10 FEET."   In both instances if I had just decided to nor try at all I might not have gotten hurt. But also I would not have learned to ride a bike or gotten a raise at work for completion of the course. which would have sucked both times and possible for the rest of my life.

Now, just not trying something for the fear of failing has always just been really stupid to me. Thank about it. If what you are trying to do is say, ask a girl out but you don't because you are afraid she will say no then how will you ever know if she would have said yes. In this case the absolute worst thing that can happen to you is she says NO. Which sucks but come on, get over it. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Or how about you guys and girls that never learned to swim. Look around in the summer. All these people are having fun and staying cool while you sit in the lounge chair and watch. I don't know about you but if that were me that would really suck.

I guess the conclusion is that to me it is much better to try and fail than to not fail at all. Where is the fun in never failing.

Thanks for reading this and I will see you guys and girls tomorrow.

50 Questions Day 1

50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind

  1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
My current age is 25. Most people including myself would tell you however that I act like someone who is both older and younger at the same time.  Those that know me personally will tell you that on one side of the coin I don't like to hang out and party or go clubbing. I pretty much just like to sit at home with the wife and watch television and read, a lot. From talking with people from different parts of the country I have come to find out that for my age this is pretty weird and a lot of the time seem to make me look like I am 28 or 29.
Now on the other side of the coin I have some serious ADHD issues and will get distracted in the middle of sentences, Like this one time at an old job a bunch of us were standing outside talking on break and in the middle of a sentence I stopped and because i saw this really huge snow flake falling, by the time I noticed what had happened everyone was laughing at me. I love to get new toys(electronics) and I still play a lot of video games. Also I am very curios and energetic, almost to a fault sometimes. This side of the coin makes me seem like I am 20 again.

Now you see my conundrum with the age question and why if I had to guess how old I am I would probably guess mid 20's .

Thoughts clouding my mind

Every since I went to the cct4 class for work I have found myself trying and failing to concentrate on work and other things but can't seem to. So here is what I am going to try to do. I am going to try to answer at least 1 question from the following list and i will try my best to elaborate on the questions. Feel free to comment on the question of the day. I would love to hear like and unlike comments.

Osama Bin Laden is Dead

We all remember this: A day of pain that will forever be in our minds.

A day that everyone wept for those lost and those who surived who would never be the same.
There were a total of 2,996 deaths, including the 19 hijackers and 2,977 victims. The victims were distributed as follows: 246 on the four planes (from which there were no survivors), 2,606 in New York City in the towers and on the ground, and 125 at the Pentagon. All the deaths in the attacks were civilians except for 55 military personnel killed in the attack on the Pentagon.
Since 9/11 there have been thousands of deaths of our military men and women all because of the damning acts of one man and the men following him.

Even though we as a nation were gravely wounded we have never faltered. Even in the direct aftermath of 9/11 we were strong.
For 10 years we have fought and died for those that died in that horrible day.
Now that Bin Laden is dead I have hope that we will be able to have our men and women overseas to come home.
If there is anything in Bin Laden's death for others to take away from this I think it would be.
Don't mess with the U.S. Because we will find you and you will pay.

Couponing, cook outs and cleaning

Has anyone watched that new show on TLC called "Extreme Couponing". That crap is just crazy. Theses people go into a store and pick up hundreds if not thousands of dollars of stuff and end up paying only about 2-10% of the bill. So of course this got me and Gina thinking, "we can do this". We went to the gas station and got a newspaper and grabbed the ones already had and proceeded to Kroger. Let me tell you for the normal people this couponing stuff is hard as hell. The whole time through the store we were either arguing with each other or trying to do math in our heads to see if we would save money or not. Thank god for the 10 for 10 sales because with those we saved about 40 dollars just with the Kroger card. Other than that we only saved about 15 bucks with coupons. WOOOHOOOO SAVINGS. Well all I have to say on the coupons is "might not be worth the trouble."

Next item has to do with friends and cook outs. In the past 2 weeks Gina and I have hosted a cookout and gone to another. The best part is that neither time were we planing on cookouts. It just kinda happened. Us and a few friends would be just sitting around and suddenly one of us would decide that "Hey let grill some burgers". The one we went to last night started out with Patrick and I finding some frisbiees in his garage and just throwing them around. But of course I can't be satified with that. So I went and found a few tubs and some bottles and set them up and Pat and I spent the next hour trying to knock the bottles over. I WON. After we got done eating we went inside and Pat's wife challenged me to a game of Harry potter scene it. Let me tell you something. For the most part. This game is way to easy. What's funny is that while the game started out as Gina and I against Patrick and Megan it ended up being Megan vs. Me. The whole time we were playing we were screaming at each other and the TV. The game took us about an hour and a half to play. Now who do you think won. I will wait a min and let you guess.........................ME, ME, ME, ME, ME,  That's right I won. Suck it Megan. HAHAHAHAHAHAH.  After the game finished she then spent the next 15 min. trying to kill me with pillows from the couch because she swore up and down that she would always kick my butt in anything Harry Potter. Again I say HAHAHHAHA I won.
